A female police officer was allegedly murdered by her own brother in what is suspected to be a case of honour killing in the Indian state of Telangana.
The slain police officer's husband lodged a complaint with the local police department accusing the brother of killing her as he was against their inter-caste marriage.
According to the police, the accused had started planning the murder a week prior, going so far as to use an accomplice to keep track of the victim's movements.
The accused came in a car, hit the two-wheeler the victim was driving and then proceeded to stab her in the neck, according to police reports.
The police also stated that the brother had been apprehended and a murder case had been registered against him.
The victim's husband also stated that he was on the phone with her when it happened, and that the last thing she said to him was "my brother has come to kill me" before the call got disconnected.
