HORSERACING – RASHID Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) and Bapco Energies signed a platinum sponsorship agreement that includes a number of seasonal races and international championships hosted by the kingdom of Bahrain in the 2024-25 season.
The agreement underscores the strong partnership between both parties to develop the horseracing industry in Bahrain.
The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of Bapco Energies Group CEO Mark Thomas and REHC CEO Yusuf Osama Buheji.
The sponsorship includes prestigious cups and championships, such as His
Majesty the King’s Cup, the His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, the Bahrain International Trophy, and the Al Fateh Cup, part of the Bahrain Turf Series, in addition to Bapco Energies Cups.
Thomas expressed Bapco Energies’ pride in continuing to sponsor His Majesty the King’s Cup for the fourth consecutive year, in addition to sponsoring the His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup.
Bapco Energies’ sponsorship is driven by its commitment to supporting the equestrian and horseracing sector, building on the efforts of REHC High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop this sport and elevate Bahrain’s position in the field of horseracing.
Thomas highlighted the importance of Bapco Energies’ participation for the first time as a sponsor of the Bahrain Turf Series, in addition to continuing its support for the Bahrain International Trophy for the sixth consecutive year.
He emphasised the group’s commitment to be a key partner in the success of these international championships, and highlighted the significant progress of His Majesty the King’s Cup as it was elevated to be a Group Three event, which reflects the race’s high level and strong participations among global races, in addition to the His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup and the His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, being granted Listed status internationally.
On this occasion, Buheji praised the prominent role of Bapco Energies and its keenness to continue the extended partnership with REHC, which enhances its position as a major partner and supporter of important races and international championships, organised by the club during the 2024-25 season.
Buheji added that Bapco Energies’ sponsorship of a number of international races and championships, most notably His Majesty the King’s Cup, is one of the main pillars that contribute to the success of such major events, and motivates the REHC to continue its efforts in enhancing the prestigious level of races held locally and internationally.
