Shaikh Isa was briefed on the preparations for the season launch, which will highlight the club’s state-of-the-art facilities.
Shaikh Isa noted the importance of REHC’s organisational readiness to enhance the experience for participants and visitors. He concluded by commending the efforts of all parties involved in the REHC’s development projects, and wished them continued success for the upcoming racing season.
A number of officials from the REHC were also present during the visit.
Tomorrow’s races will feature cups of the late Shaikh Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, in honour of his great contributions to REHC.
The 2024-25 season has been expanded to 30 races, including the prestigious Bahrain Turf Series, which will now feature 12 events after holding 10 in 2023-24.
The weekly meetings will continue until the campaign’s finale on April 18 next year, and it will include night races for the first time ever in the kingdom.
The major events on the campaign include the The King’s Cup Festival on March 6 and 7, and the Crown Prince’s Cup Festival on January 30 and 31.
REHC will also be hosting the sixth edition of the Bahrain International Trophy on November 15. The $1 million Group Two event has attracted an impressive international field, with entries from seven countries outside of Bahrain. It will be staged over 2,000m with a maximum of 14 runners.
The Bahrain Turf Series will be in its fourth season, with races being held from December to March of 2025. The series has elevated its overall value to over $1m, with $80,000 available in bonuses.
