Giving financial gifts instead of flowers on occasions such as marriage or childbirth has become a topic of interest to many in today’s society.
Although giving flowers was considered a well-established tradition to express joy and celebration, some people believe that financial gifts may be more useful and practical for newly-weds or new parents.
In many cases, flowers may not be of long-term benefit. They are beautiful, but they bloom for a very short period and then wither, while financial gifts can be used to meet specific needs, such as furnishing the marital home or providing supplies for the newborn.
As is well known, marriage or childbirth require a large budget to meet the expenses. Financial gifts can be a way to support the family at a critical stage, making them a practical gift that meets their immediate needs.
On the other hand, flowers or traditional gifts may not always suit the tastes or needs of the recipient, as financial gifts give newly-weds or new parents the freedom to choose what suits them.
In a time of rush, there may not be enough time to search for the perfect gift. Financial gifts also save a lot of time and effort, and give the recipient great flexibility in how to use them.
However, although I agree that financial gifts may be useful, they may lack the emotion and symbolism that flowers represent. Flowers express love, romance and beauty, and they carry feelings that money cannot express in the same way.
From my personal point of view, it is possible to combine a financial gift with a symbolic one at the same time, so that a beautiful card or a small flower arrangement can be presented with a sum of money or a purchase voucher from any mall, thus achieving a balance between practicality and sentimentality.
Personally, I think that the new generation has this creative sense and is free from the customs we inherited and which became a culture that is not necessarily correct! Therefore, it is very possible to change this culture gradually, as they have different and bold qualities in dealing with various life matters.
The bottom line? The choice between flowers and financial gifts remains a personal matter that depends on the circumstances of the giver and the recipient. Some prefer to maintain traditions and symbolism, while others see financial gifts as more useful and sustainable. The important thing is to express love and sharing, regardless of the form the gift takes.
Wishing everyone a life full of happiness, joy and pleasure.
