In order to increase road safety and reduce accidents, all new motor vehicles being imported into Bahrain must have specifications such as advance driver assistance system (pedestrian detection / avoidance, lane departure warning / correction, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking and blind spot detection), smart speed assistance system, reversing camera, parking sensors and driver fatigue detection which are compulsory across the European Union.
Upgrading existing rules and regulations as suggested above will improve the standards of the vehicles being imported into Bahrain and also, more importantly, will protect passengers, pedestrians and cyclists .
