HORSERACING – MEARALL, owned by Bahrain’s Al Mohamediya Racing, triumphed yesterday in an international horserace held in the UK.
Competing in the Karl Budge 60th Birthday EBF Novice Stakes at Ripon Racecourse in North Yorkshire, Richard Fahey-trained Mearall won the six-furlong event with jockey Oisin Orr in the saddle.
They started quickly and travelled strong, and continued to lead inside the final furlong. They took the win by two-and-a-quarter lengths ahead of runner-up We Dare To Dream, competing for owners Baker Longden Lambert, David O’Meara, and David Nolan; while Focus On Zaam came third for John Phelan and Partner, Ivan Furtado, and Kieran O’Neill.
The race featured seven runners in all.
