SHOWJUMPING – THE Interior Ministry Showjumping Team excelled in the Longines Global Future Champions event, held at Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands.
Mayoof Abdulaziz Al Alromaihi clinched a victory and a runner-up finish in two competition categories at the event, which featured showjumpers, both men and women, from all over the world.
Alromaihi’s win came in the CSI2 against-the-clock competition with 1.2-metre fences. He was riding his horse Calvados des Vergers Z and they finished the round in a winning time of 59.5 seconds with no penalties.
Hussain Ali Al Kaabi of Qatar on Contenta della Verdina came second in 61.43s, while Alexandra Crown of the US on Dorothy DH Z finished third in 62.81s.
Alromaihi also took second place in the CSI2 two-phases special, with fences 1.15m in height. Riding Irish de Walput, Alromaihi posted a time of 34.25s on the rankings. Faris Saad Al Qahtani of Qatar was the winner riding Hidiene. They finished with a time of 32.18s. Saad Al Saad, also of Qatar, on Irschi, took third in 35.12s.
