Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) CEO Yusuf Buheji, accompanied by a delegation from REHC, made a visit to the British Racing School in the UK, during which they met with officials and were informed about the programmes on offer.
Buheji also met with Bahrain’s three jockeys Mohammed Jameel, Ali Zaalan, and Dhai Al Saadoon, who are currently participating in a training course at the institute.
The delegation was briefed on the progress of their programme, which includes theoretical and practical training, in addition to participation in a few races.
The selection of the trio of jockeys was based on recommendations from REHC’s Bahrain Jockey Academy, with the aim of further refining and developing the skills of emerging local jockeys.
The one-month training was designed to provide valuable experience through interaction with professional coaches and jockeys. Al Saadoon is making history as the first Bahraini female jockey entering the field of horseracing. She has taken significant steps towards becoming a qualified apprentice jockey, demonstrating exceptional dedication and perseverance.
