CYCLING – Team Bahrain Victorious riders took part in the ceremonial teams’ presentation ahead of today’s start to this year’s Tour de France.
The eight-member squad of Colombian Santiago Buitrago, Spaniard Pello Bilbao, Dutchman Wout Poels, Slovenian Matej Mohoric, Australian Jack Haig, Briton Fred Wright, and Germans Nikias Arndt and Phil Bauhaus will be competing in the gruelling 21-stage event, which marks its 111th edition this year.
They will be battling it out over 21 days of intense racing across 3,497 kilometres and over 53,000 vertical metres of climbing.
The tour gets underway for the first time ever in Florence, Italy.
It will conclude on July 21 with a 33.7km individual time trial from Monaco to Nice, marking the first time the Tour de France will end outside of Paris due to the Olympics.
