Akhbar Al Khaleej, captained by Abdulshaheed Abdula’al, held Al Bilad, captained by Dawood Mohammed, to a 2-2 draw in the second round match of the retirees category in Al Hamala Youth Empowerment Centre Football Tournament.
Al Bilad, who beat Al Abraj in their first match, were 2-0 up at the break. Akhbar Al Khaleej fought back in the second half and their efforts paid off with Ali Ibrahim scoring two goals to end the match in a draw.
Akhbar Al Khaleej will take on Al Abraj on Tuesday in their third group match to identify the group leader.
