A two-year-old girl from Kentucky, US, has set a new Guinness World Record by becoming the youngest female member of Mensa International, the largest and oldest high-IQ society in the world.
Guinness World Records confirmed that Isla McNabb had scored in the 99th percentile for her age group in the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scales.
Founded in 1946, Mensa currently has more than 140,000 members from 100 countries.
To become a member, individuals must score in the 98th percentile on a standardised IQ test. This means they are among the top 2pc of the entire population in terms of intelligence.
Isla’s parents said they noticed that she was bright from the moment they brought her home, but didn’t suspect anything. That is until she started learning.
At just a year old, Isla could reportedly understand and pick out objects from a picture book when asked for them.
At two years old, her parents discovered she could also read and spell.
