Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani yesterday commended the Manama Dialogue for its success in promoting peace, tolerance, dialogue and understanding.
He highlighted the approach of His Majesty King Hamad and the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister praised efforts of the Foreign Ministry and International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) for organising the Regional Security Summit: The Manama Dialogue 2023, which ended yesterday at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain, highlighting the forum’s role in dialogue and debate.
“The forum aimed to find comprehensive, just and sustainable peaceful solutions to end regional and international conflicts for a safer and more prosperous world,” Dr Al Zayani said.
The minister commended the diplomatic vision of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in his opening speech, which affirmed Bahrain’s stance for a just and comprehensive peace in the region, granting Palestinians their right to establish a state in line with the two-state solution.
“The focus is on stopping the war in the Gaza Strip, protecting civilians, preventing displacement and releasing detainees.
“The kingdom also seeks to provide humanitarian aid in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution No. 2712 and revive the peace process under the effective leadership of superpowers in the international community, particularly the US,” he added.
Dr Al Zayani commended Bahrain’s leadership for its commitment to promoting dialogue, tolerance and solidarity.
He emphasised respect for international laws, peaceful dispute resolution, and non-interference in internal affairs.
