MP Dr Maryam Al Dhaen submitted a proposal to Parliament to tighten control over the conduct of some “home delivery” motorcyclists who do not abide by traffic and health rules.
Some of them squeeze between cars or use pavements and sidewalks as shortcuts, she said, and the food boxes on their motorcycles do not meet health and hygiene standards.
One delivery man was caught on video eating from the food he was supposed to deliver. Such unacceptable behaviours should not be tolerated, she added.
