UK TikToker Mahek Bukhari and her mother Ansreen Bukhari were found guilty by a UK court of murdering Ansreen's lover and his friend.
The mother-daughter duo was found guilty of murdering Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin, both 21, after Hussain had threatened to expose his affair with 46-year-old Ansreen, according to reports.
The mother had been having an affair with Hussain for around three years, Leicestershire Police confirmed. When she revealed to him that she wanted to end the relationship, he threatened to tell her husband about them. Ansreen, who did not want to leave her husband, offered to pay back the money Hussain had spent on her. She along with her daughter Mahek, who knew about the affair, arranged to meet with Hussain to talk things out.
The police said that the duo showed up at a supermarket parking lot for the meet-up accompanied by 6 other men in two different cars. CCTV footage shows Hussain pulling into the parking lot with his childhood friend Ijazuddin. The two friends were then involved in a high-speed car chase with the eight defendants following them in two cars.
According to police transcripts, Hussain made a 999 call while he was being chased and said, "I’m being followed by two vehicles. They’re trying to block me in. They’ve got balaclavas on. They’re trying to ram me off the road. They’re trying to kill me. I’m going to die.”
The car carrying Hussain and Ijazuddin reportedly hit a tree during the chase, causing it to "split in two" and killing the two passengers.
Mahek, Ansreen, and two others were found guilty of murder, while three others were found guilty of manslaughter.
All of them are expected to be sentenced on September 1.
