A flyover under construction in Bangkok collapsed on Monday evening, killing at least two people.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipan reported that the collapse of the road injured 11 people and killed one person, while another died at the hospital.
An investigation is underway on the cause of the collapse of the elevated road that has been under construction since 2020.
A video footage of the structure collapsing is shown after a blue metal structure, that was holding the concrete slabs, fell and took down the entire structure.
“This shouldn’t have happened. Someone needs to be responsible for this because someone died ... this wasn’t something unpreventable,” the governor said while inspecting the crash site and confirming that no one else was trapped in the debris.
It will take several days to clear the rubble, he added.
