In what many, along with the original poster, have claimed to be "the most controversial proposal ever", a man staged a fake kidnapping to propose to his girlfriend while in Lebanon.
The video posted on TikTok by the groom's sister Tahlia starts off with her travelling in the car with her brother's girlfriend, Vanessa Moujalli. The video then shows a group of men armed with guns stopping the vehicle and asking the bride-to-be to get into another car. She refuses, but they manage to get her into another car and put a blindfold on her.

Upon arriving at a different location, she is then taken outside and her blindfold removed to reveal her boyfriend, Adam Rizk with a bouquet and a ring.
Vanessa appears surprised as she accepts the proposal as a band starts playing music nearby.
Since being posted, the video has gone viral with over 400,000 views and received mixed responses about the controversial method of the proposal.
Several commenters stated that this video had put them off marriage forever, while others applauded the groom for doing something 'different'.
