A 28-year-old Emirati was stabbed to death during a party at a villa in Dubai recently.
On the night of the incident, eight friends were dancing and partying on the front lawn of the villa when they allegedly saw another friend of theirs — an Emirati identified as A.H. — coming out of the house without a shirt on and with bloodstains all over his trousers, according to an initial investigation.
A.H. then jumped into his car and sped away, they added.
A few seconds later, the victim stumbled out of the house bleeding and then limped his way to the backyard, where he eventually collapsed and died.
Upon witnessing their friend’s death, the eight other Emiratis at the party fled the scene.
A friend, who was not present at the house party, was alerted of the incident and rushed over. He notified the police when he saw the victim's body in the backyard.
Dubai Police immediately dispatched a team of CID officers to the scene, where they found the victim dead and lying in a pool of blood.
Investigators gathered evidence at the scene and moved the body to a forensic laboratory for autopsy.
The police then formed a task force to identify and track down the suspects.
They launched an extensive manhunt across the UAE which led to the arrest of the nine Emiratis, four of whom were arrested in Sharjah and the rest in Dubai.
Dubai Public Prosecution is now interrogating the nine Emiratis in connection with the incident.
