Budding rider Sultan Abdulaziz Al Rumaihi dominated the 100cm obstacles category (Level 1), in the third showjumping championship of the new season.
The event was held at Al Raffa under the patronage of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) chairman Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
He won the competition and clocked 25.60 seconds, riding Brisfol, and came second in the same competition, riding “Mashallah” to clock 26.17 seconds.
Fares Yahya Ahmed came third, riding Trust You, to clock 27.08 seconds, followed by Charlottee who clocked 25.85 seconds (Angel Eye), and Abdulaziz Saud, who clocked 27.70 seconds. Rider Youssef Mirza finished sixth with 26.17 seconds.
In the 110cm obstacles category (Level 2), Hussein Asghar emerged as the winner. Riding Figo Boy, he outclassed his competitors, clocking 26.26 seconds.
Al Rumaihi came second, clocking 32.18 seconds, leaving Mustapha Mohammed Dadallah in the third place with 39.65 seconds.
He was followed by Ali Hussein Al Baqali in the fourth place (46.22 seconds), Youssef Mirza Abdulla (54.82 seconds) and Al Rumaihi (again) and Mashallah, clocking together 58.71 seconds.
Asghar, Dadallah and Al Rumaihi expressed their delight at the outstanding results in the third showjumping championship, praising the competition between riders which augurs well for the rest of the season.
Breef Referees’ Committee’s chairman Ayedh Al Ghailan praised the riders’ promising performance, which reflects their readiness and preparations for the showjumping championship.
He also lauded riders and participants for their compliance with health protocols and mandatory precautionary measures, by wearing face masks, sanitising hands and social distancing.
