Kuwait City: Kuwait's Criminal court has sentenced an Egyptian man to seven years in prison and deportation thereafter for hacking the country’s official news agency.
The court found him guilty of hacking the account of the Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) and broadcasting false news about the withdrawal of US forces from Kuwait and attributing the news to Kuwait's Defence Ministry, an Arabic daily reported.
Kuna had denied the news and said its website had been hacked in January.
This led to the defendant's arrest in February.
