Riyadh: Top ministers and government officials praised Saudi cabinet's decision to raise the representation level of the Saudi-Bahraini Co-ordination Council to be headed by the countries' Crown Princes.
Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani congratulated His Majesty King Hamad for backing the Saudi move "which will further strengthen historic ties and bolster co-operation with the kingdom.
He said strong ties are based on kinship, sincerity, gratitude and mutual respect between the leaders and people, in addition to common history and destiny.
Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa also extended congratulations to His Majesty, and His royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
"This decision will contribute to developing co-operation and strengthening economic relations to achieve further growth and prosperity for the two countries," he said.
Information Affairs Minister Ali Al Rumaihi pointed out the move reflects the depth of the two kingdoms' co-ordination on various stances and challenges, in line with the belief of His Majesty and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the specific nature of relations, noting that Saudi-Bahraini ties are unique and exemplary.
Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh also congratulated His Majesty and the Crown Prince, and passed the historic decision.
