Makkah: Saudi has officially launched Bayan, a web-based programme offering translations of the Quran in different languages.
The announcement was made by the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, SPA reported.
The programme is yet another effort to provide excellent services to pilgrims, said Quran Affairs Department director Hamzah Al-Salmi.
He added that authorities are using all traditional and modern means possible to serve pilgrims while strictly adhering to precautionary measures in place due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Makkah hotel prices have also been slashed to never-before-seen levels in the Umrah season, with hotel room prices dropping to as low as SR38 ($10) in some areas.
As five-star hotels in Makkah prepare to welcome pilgrims and visitors to resume normalcy to the hotel industry, most hotels have promoted great discounts.
The holy city contains more than 1,400 hotels, making up more than two-third of the accommodation sector in the whole of Saudi Arabia.
While the hotels are known to have the highest prices through the year, peaking about three times during busy seasons, hotel rooms near the Grand Mosque currently cost between SR250 and SR700 ($77-$187).
