Applied Science University (ASU) is continuing to accept prospective students for the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021 and says it is committed to providing them with the ‘best service’ possible.
ASU’s marketing and public relations director Ruqaya Mohsin encourages students to visit the university’s website to learn more about its academic programmes, enrolment procedures, student services and other facilities.
Due to the exceptional situation of the global pandemic, the registration and enrolment process for this semester is fully electronic via the university’s official website, under the recommendations of the Higher Education Council (HEC), she said.
Majors offered for the upcoming semester include undergraduate degrees in law, business administration, accounting, political science, management information systems, computer science, graphic and interior design.
The university also offers postgraduate programmes in law, commercial law, human resource management, business administration, accounting and finance, in addition to the College of Engineering’s programmes through which students can get an accredited British undergraduate degree from the London South Bank University in either civil or architectural engineering.
Ms Mohsin pointed out that during these circumstances, the university will continue to support all its students through a set of services that will help them during their educational journey.
This includes scholarships that are granted annually through the ‘student aid’ for outstanding students and those who experience financial difficulties, in addition to the siblings’ discounts and flexible payment arrangements where payment is made through instalments based on the student’s ability to settle their tuition fees.
It is worth noting that the university is beginning the new academic year with a series of achievements under its belt, including its recent QS World University Ranking 2021.
ASU ranked among 700 universities in the world, becoming the first private university in the kingdom to achieve this superior position and making it among the world’s top 150 universities under 50 years of establishment.
The university has also occupied an advanced position for Arab universities in the QS Arab Region University Rankings over the past two years, ranking 37th and becoming the only university in the Kingdom to receive four stars.
In the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, the university ranked 401 among 760 best universities selected from 85 countries around the world.
ASU’s march toward academic excellence has also earned the university institutional accreditation from the HEC, and seen it complete its institutional review by the Education and Training Quality Authority.
It has also received the RICI Certified Management Systems for Educational Organisation ISO 21001:2018 and the ISO 9001:2015 for quality management.
The university is an accredited centre by the Higher Education Academy (HEA), United Kingdom, with recognised faculty members as fellows, senior and principal fellows of the HEA.
