One of the most anticipated bouts of BRAVE CF’s Kombat Kingdom is not happening as first planned. The rematch between Lucas “Mineiro” Martins and Luan “Miau” Santiago is off.
An all-Russian clash between two top Middleweights will be the new co-main event for BRAVE CF 41.
BRAVE CF officials have confirmed that Lucas Martins has suffered an injury and was forced to pull out of the bout.
Over the last days, the Mineiro vs Santiago rivalry has escalated, with strong words coming from Luan’s side, describing how their relationship evolved from a close friendship to feuding.
The former champions faced each other for the first time in 2018, at the main event of BRAVE CF 11, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
The five-round battle was one of the best fights of the year and ended with a surprising late TKO in favour of Mineiro, after Miau suffered a gruesome elbow injury with only four seconds left on the clock.
Now, sambo world champion Ikram Aliskerov will get the co-headline spot against newcomer Denis Tiuliulin, who’s riding a three-fight win streak coming into his BRAVE CF debut.
BRAVE CF 41 takes place on September 17, in Bahrain.
The event will be headlined by the Middleweight title bout between the world champion Daniel Gaúcho and challenger Mohammad “The Latest” Fakhreddine. Also in action, several high-profile stars such as Cian Cowley taking on Ahmed Amir and Felipe Silva meeting Sam Patterson.
