All government school teachers and administrative staff will continue to be tested for Covid-19 tomorrow.
The Education Ministry has introduced an appointment system to ensure the testing procedure runs smoothly at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sanabis, which is also hosting a phase III clinical trial for a Covid-19 vaccine, after traffic issues yesterday.
GDNonline earlier reported that the start of the school year had been delayed by the ministry for two weeks, in order for tests to take place following a spike in the number of positive cases in the community.
The move followed directives from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to review measures concerning the planned reopening of schools based on recommendations by the National Taskforce to Combat the Coronavirus.
Administrative, teaching and technical staff in government schools were scheduled to resume work today but will now do so from September 20.
