Riyadh: GCC secretary-general Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf and Arab League chief Ahmed Abul Gheit discussed Arab and regional issues and developments during a call.
The two sides stressed the importance of coordination to strengthen pan-Arab action in order to confront challenges and stave off foreign interference in Arab countries’ internal affairs.
They also reviewed the repercussions of the massive blast which rocked Beirut port, commending the response of Arab countries and the international community to dispatch urgent relief aid to the people of Lebanon.
Meanwhile, Saudi's health ministry confirmed 1,257 new cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the country in the past 24 hours.
In a statement posted on its website, the ministry said that 32 infected patients had passed away, bringing the death toll to 3,199 fatalities.
It added that 1,439 patients had recovered, raising the tally of recoveries to 253,478.
