His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed the victory achieved by mare Line of Departure at the Ascot racecourse, in Britain.
He said the win reflects the great support and sponsorship extended to the equestrian sport by His Majesty.

“Line of Departure has great capabilities as evidenced by the great victories the mare has achieved in the Barmouth race a few days ago and at Ascot,” Shaikh Nasser said, adding: “The mare displayed a great performance during the race which witnessed fierce competition. Line of Departure didn’t just win, but outclassed the other competitors, finishing the race well ahead the runner-up.
“Despite the fact that the race featured an elite group of participants, our confidence in Line of Departure was high and our belief in a great result was firm,” he added.
Shaikh Nasser hailed the efforts of trainer Roger Varian and jockey David Egan which led to this victory.
