BRAVE Combat Federation’s scouting programme once again delivered a fine night of top prospects slugging it out and featured history in the making for the sport.
Amateurs Muhammad Mokaev and Glenn McVeigh fought in the most talked-about dual debut fight in mixed martial arts history.
Muhammad Mokaev is, of course, the pound-for-pound number one amateur fighter on the planet and a two-time world champion at IMMAF.
His opponent, however, stormed through the scene with a call-out in the middle of the week which caught the eye of BRAVE CF president Mohammed Shahid, who immediately made the fight happen after McVeigh claimed he could derail the hype of “the bum Mokaev”.
A day later, the two met for the first time in the lobby of the Stockholm host hotel and a brawl almost erupted.
The social media hype of the fight went through the roof with fans around the world intrigued by how the top prospect in MMA would deal with a talented, outspoken, and hated opponent.
During the fight, Mokaev kept his composure even though both men exchanged trash talk throughout – at one point, prompting the referee to warn them about the language being used in the verbal exchanges.
Before, during and after the fight, the world of MMA was glued to social media and to BRAVE CF TV wanting to know how the top prospect would fare in his pro debut and see if McVeigh would be able to back up his trash talk, bringing in amazing numbers for the organisation and making their bout definitely the most talked about dual debut fight in the sport’s history.
While Mokaev got the win in a dominant fashion, McVeigh was also able to make a name for himself and will be signed to a long-term contract by BRAVE CF, said Mohammed Shahid.
