Kuwait: The securities authorities have deported about 41,000 expatriates from Kuwait between January 2015 and this month.
A high-level security source said that that 26,600 migrants were deported last year alone, reported Alanba newspaper.
The same source said that majority of the deported expatriates are Asians who are banned from re-entering Kuwait for breaking laws on residence and labour.
The security authorities have also deported expatriates convicted in crimes instead of keeping them in prison.
"This is the highest number of expatriates to be deported from Kuwait in decades," the source said, pointing out that the deportation order takes up to ten days to be implemented.
