Abu Dhabi: UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Shaikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and French Foreign Minister Jean Yves Le Drian, discussed the strategic ties between the UAE and France and the prospects of cooperation in various fields.
In a phone call, Shaikh Abdullah and Le Drian tackled the latest regional developments and various regional and global issues of mutual interest including Syria, Libya and ways to enhance security in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The two top diplomats emphasised the support for efforts to reach a political solution of the Libyan crisis, which is the only solution to achieve security and stability in Libya and preserve its unity and integrity.
The ministers exchanged views over the latest developments related to COVID-19 and the efforts made by the two countries to control its impact and repercussions.
