Dark Lion, owned by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, triumphed at the Wolverhampton race in Britain.
Jockey David Egan rode Dark Lion to victory in the 1,400m race, reserved for two-year-old horses.
Dark Lion is trained by Roger Varian.
Shaikh Nasser, also National Security Adviser and Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman, expressed delight on the achievement.
“This achievement embodies the great support the equestrian sport is receiving from His Majesty King Hamad,” Shaikh Nasser said.
“This victory confirms Bahrain’s advanced position in this sport,” he added.
