Muscat: Three patients have been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus Covid-19, bringing the overall number of infected persons in Oman to 15.
The Ministry of Health announced that two Iranians, in addition to an Omani citizen who returned from Iran, had tested positive for the virus.
The health authorities quarantined the infected patients as per the World Health Organisation (WHO) protocols.
Meanwhile, the government announced new measures to be followed by the public, schools as part of efforts to contain COVID-19.
Hosted by the Shura Council, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control Dr Saif al Abri said that around 2,700 people are under domestic and institutional quarantine.
