Kuwait: Kuwait Airways has evacuated 130 citizens from Iran due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Health Minister Dr Basel Al Sabah said that passengers who arrived on the first flight are “in good health with no COVID-19 symptoms”.
The national carrier had announced coordination with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Health and the General Civil Aviation Authority to fly back over 700 Kuwaiti nationals from Mashhad in Iran.
Five other flights are scheduled to arrive from Iran and land at Saad Al Abdulla Airport within the coming hours, said the minister, adding that all measures had been taken to prevent any infections.
According to statistics provided to the Health Ministry, around 750 citizens will be evacuated from the city of Mashhad.
