Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has contributed $1 million to the United Nations (UN) Alliance of Civilizations.
Saudi Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al Muallimi delivered a cheque to the High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.
Al Muallimi underlined the role played by the UN Alliance of Civilizations, and its efforts in spreading a culture of peace and tolerance in the world.
He stressed the importance of strengthening multiple and preventive diplomacy, and protecting religious sites, underlining the world’s dire need to cultivate the values of co-existence, build bridges of peace in light of the escalating violence, hate-mongering and interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
