Kuwait City: A new law regulating the status of foreign women married to Kuwaiti nationals is to be issued shortly.
Under the new legislation, non-Kuwaiti wives would be granted nationality only after 18 years of marriage, said a government source.
The Cabinet has reportedly approved the amended article 8 of the law on nationalities, paving the way for non-Kuwaiti wives to become eligible for citizenship, according to Al Qabas.
