Mecca: A massive fire broke out this morning at a multi-storey hotel in Mecca, Almarsd reported.
A video recording showed the blaze which erupted at 11.40am in the hotel, which is part of the Jebel Omar project.
Civil Defence firefighters managed to contain the flames before it could gut the whole building.
Civil Defence Directorate official spokesman Major Nayef Al Sharif said that the fire first broke out in a pile of waste before spreading to the hotel.
