The Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) denied plans to issue a banknote with the denomination of SAR1,000, Almarsd reported.
A SAMA source refuted the allegations, which were circulating on social media, dismissing the rumours as baseless.
Reports posted online claimed that a SAR1,000 banknote, bearing photos of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the founder King Abdulaziz, would be issued.
The kingdom has already issued a SAR500 banknote bearing pictures of King Abdulaziz, the Kaaba and Mecca Grand Mosque.
