Riyadh: A pair of Tanzanian conjoined twins have been separated successfully in Saudi Arabia confirmed Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Royal Court Advisor and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
A team led by Dr. Al-Rabeeah performed the surgery on the conjoined twins - Anishia and Meleniz - at the King Abdulla Specialist Pediatric Hospital in King Abdulla Medical City, Riyadh, reported Sabq.
Thirty-three consultant doctors, technicians and other paramedics and nursery staff took part in the nine-phased operation which lasted thirteen and a half hours.
A total of 47 surgeries have been performed in Saudi Arabia to separate conjoined twins of different nationalities.
