Muscat: Sultan Qaboos bin Said of Oman received Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu who arrived on a rare visit to Muscat, according to ONA.
The two leaders discussed “the Middle East peace process and other issues of shared interest”, Netanyahu’s office said. He was accompanied by his wife Sara, Mossad intelligence chief Yossi Cohen and National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat.
The official state-run news agency stressed Oman’s “deep faith in peace and efforts for stability and prosperity in all countries and people of the region and their aspiration for a better future”.
The Omani monarch also received Palestinian President and chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Mahmoud Abbas, who was on a three-day visit to Muscat.
