THE Bahrain delegation’s Chef de Mission at the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia, Bader Nasser, expressed his delight and appreciation in being given the honour of carrying the kingdom’s flag during Parade of Nations at the Opening Ceremony held last Saturday.
Nasser said that being selected as the flag-bearer was a dream come true and it is something that every athlete or anybody involved in international sport dreams of doing at some point in their careers.
Nasser said that such moments will forever be etched in his memory and that they are a matter of pride.
He added that they are a testament to the hard work and dedication he puts in for Bahrain sports.
Proud
Nasser, who is also an official at the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA), felt proud that his flag-bearing duties came at one of the world’s biggest multi-nation sporting events – one that is second only to the Olympics in terms of size and number of participating athletes.
Nasser thanked His Majesty the King’s Charity Works and Youth Affairs Representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman and BAA President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their continuous support of his programmes and plans.
