Kuwait City: Kuwait has stepped in to supply Iraq with fuel to operate its out-of-service power stations across the country amid mounting protests.
The Amir of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah directed the Ministry of Oil to start supplying Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity with gas oil to operate the stalled stations.
The Ministry of Oil announced that a tanker loaded with 30,000 cubic would arrive at port Basra in Southern Iraq, adding that more shipments would be sent in the coming days.
The lack of services and electricity has fueled mass protests across Southern Iraqi cities.
