Jeddah – The Saudi authorities have delayed the soft opening of the new Jeddah airport.
The state-of-the-art King Abdulaziz International Airport was initially scheduled to open on Tuesday, 1st of May.
The section allocated for internal flights was not completed on time, which pushed the authorities to put off the soft opening of the airport.
Sources said that an alternative date would be announced for the soft opening, on completing the finishing touches.
The General Authority for Civil Aviation will run the King Abdulaziz International Airport during the experimental phase.
Bids will then be invited to commission a specialised company to undertake the management of the airport.
