Mecca – Torrential rain hit the province of Mecca, bringing life to a stand-still. Video recordings showed rainwater flooding roads, cars and shops. Worshippers were also seen praying the Isha’a under the rain at Mecca Grand Mosque.
The meteorological authorities have also reported heavy rains in other parts of Saudi Arabia, including the province of Asir, the governorates of Shaqra’a and Al-Taif.
The educational directorates announced that schools would remain closed today, Wednesday in Mecca, Shaqra’a and Al-Mujamaa and other parts due to turbulent weather conditions and sandstorms.
