A Syrian refugee husband living in Germany was arrested after killing his ex-wife, claiming that he wanted to “wash his shame”.
The suspected killer took to Facebook Live immediately after stabbing his ex-wife to death and announced that he killed because she "sullied his reputation".
German newspapers and other media outlets reported the incident which happened in the town of Mühlacker, Baden-Württemberg.
Abu Marwan, 41, reportedly killed his wife, 37, by stabbing her four to five times in the neck, before escaping with his twelve-year-old son.
He later appeared on his Facebook stream, for more than fifteen minutes bleeding due to a cut sustained in his hand, with his son next to him, before the police and public prosecutors in Karlsruhe arrested him shortly escaping the crime scene.
The concerned officials said that the couple’s underage daughter was still in the apartment when she informed police about a crime that took place around 4:30 in the afternoon.
The suspected killer has been separated from his wife, who earned custody of their three children after a legal battle.
He claimed that his murderous act was a message to all women who irritate their husbands saying “this is how you’ll end.”
The victim, Om Marwan, from Aleppo, Syria, married a Lebanese man three years after her divorce from his her killer.
