A 2013 Greek film, Miss Violence, comes to the Bahrain Cinema Club tonight at 7pm.
The film focuses on a young girl, Angeliki, who is celebrating her 11th birthday and commits suicide and is found with a smile on her face.
The party is everything you would expect, cake, dancing, a caring grandfather’s embrace, a truly loving family environment.
But is it real or just an elaborate façade?
As the story advances, the audience gets slowly lured in a web of hideous secrets and a downward spiral of lies and deceptive appearances.
Directed by Alexandros Avranas, the film won the Silver Lion Award at Venice Film Festival and was nominated for the Golden Lion Award. Call 39682323 for further information.
