Uche Ogba scored in injury time to help Al Najma hold Ettihad to a 4-4 draw in the ninth week of Bahrain NBB Football First Division League’s first leg played at Al Najma Club Hall in Juffair.
Meanwhile, Ayman Abdulamir scored the equaliser in the 92nd minute as Al Shabab held Al Hidd 1-1.
Ettihad were very close to grabbing the victory before Al Najma scored a shocking equaliser.
Al Najma now have 20 points in second place, while Ettihad have 5 points.
Al Najma scored first in the 17th minutes through Abdulla Janahi before Ettihad equalised a minute later through Fortune.
Ettihad surged ahead just five minutes after the start of the second half through Ali Al Asfoor’s goal in the 50th minute. They made it 3-1 in the 57th minute through Mahdi Abdul.
Al Najma depended on their counter attack, and succeeeded to reduce the margin 60 minutes through Ali Madan. Just moments before the final whistle, Al Najma hit the equaliser courtesy of Ogba that sealed the outcome.
Al Hidd scored first in the 40th minutes through Mohammed Al Rumaihi but just moments before the end of the match, Al Shabab equalised through Ayman Abdulamir.
Al Shabab now have 14 points and still in first place, while Al Hidd have 7 points in eighth place.
Today, Riffa take on Malkiya at 6pm at Al Ahli Club Stadium, Muharraq face East Riffa at 5.40pm, while Al Ahli go up against Manama at 7.30pm at National Stadium in Isa Town.
