Al Najma defeated Al Ahli 1-0 in the first round of Bahrain NBB Football First Division League played last night at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town.
In Al Najma and Al Ahli match, the first half of the game ended 0-0, before
Al Najma’s winning goal came in the 46th minute of the second half through striker Abdulla Janahi to remain in second place with 15 points, just a point behind leaders Muharraq. Al Ahli remained at the bottom with just one point.
In the second match, Riffa defeated Al Hidd 3-0.
The first half ended 1-0 with Leonardo scoring the goal. Riffa added two more goals in the second half through Abdulla Mubarak in the 80th minute and Danielo in the injury time.
Riffa jumped to fifth place with 9 points, while Al Hidd remained with 5 points.
The sixth week started on Friday with Manama defeating East Riffa 3-1, Muharraq beating Ettihad 1-0, and Malkiya and Al Shabab settling for a 2-2 draw.
Muharraq remained on top of the league table with 16 points.
