Al Riffa defeated Al Hidd 91-60 in the first leg of the preliminary stage of the Bahrain Zain Basketball Men’s League played last night at the Bahrain Basketball Association Hall in Um Al Hassam.
The quarters scores of Al Riffa and Al Hidd match were as follows: 18-17 (Al Riffa), 23-13 (Al Riffa), 20-17 (Al Riffa), 29-14 (Al Riffa).
Riffa’s best scorers were Marcel Jones who scored 25 points, along with Mohammed Nabeel who finished with 21 points and Ali Asghar who had16 points. Al Hidd’s best scorers were Hussain Saqer who scored 21 points and Yousif Abdulla who added 11.
This was Al Riffa’s third victory in six matches, and they raised their total points to nine, while Al Hidd remained at the bottom with six points from six defeats.

Meanwhile, Al Ahli came back in the last quarter to beat Ettihad 70-64.
The quarters scores were as follows: 17-13 (Ettihad), 15-14 (Al Ahli), 20-17 (Al Ahli), 22-16 (Al Ahli).
This was Al Ahli’s sixth straight victory with only one defeat, and they went back on top of the league table with 13 points. Ettihad lost their fourth game in seven matchesfor a 10 points total.
Al Ahli’s best scorers were Hisham Sarhan who scored 22 points, along with Hussain Shaker who finished with 14 points, as well as Quinton Doggett who had 13 points.
On the other hand, Ettihad’s best scorers were Antwan Wilkers who hit 16 points along with Ali Ghadeer who had 12 points and Sayed Mohammed Hameed who added 11 points.
