Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) will resume its regular flights to neighbouring Iraq within a few weeks, ending a suspension of the service 25 years ago.
Saudia director-general Saleh Al Jasser announced the plan during a ceremony marking the end of Haj season operations, according to Akhbaar24.
“We look forward to increasing the number of scheduled flights between the Saudi and Iraqi airports,” he said.
Meanwhile, budget airline flynas will start flights to Iraq on Wednesday (October 18).
The first flight will leave King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 11am and head to Baghdad International Airport.
The two countries have also signed an agreement to regulate air services.
