Riyadh: Forty Saudi students had a narrow escape when their school bus caught fire this morning.
The girls were heading to their school in Ahad Thurayan, in the governorate of Al-Majarda, which is part of the province of Asir.
Pictures posted on social media websites show the school bus engulfed in huge fire.
Mahayel Education Department director Mansour Al-Sharim set up an investigation team to probe the incident.
The security authorities are also investigating the causes of the blaze which gutted the bus.
