An ambitious roadmap UAE Centennial 2071 was launched along with other wide-ranging national programmes, according to WAM.
The blueprint was given the green light at the conclusion of two days of in-depth government discussions in Abu Dhabi.
The workplan is made up of four key pillars - UAE Soft Power Strategy, Fourth Industrial Revolution Strategy, Higher Education Strategy and a strategy for water security.
The meetings were held in Abu Dhabi on September 26 and 27, chaired by UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and UAE Armed Forces Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
More than 400 senior government officials attended the discussions, along with crown princes of the seven emirates, and members of the executive councils.
An exhibition was also held with students participating in the "Leaders of the Future" initiative, which aims to engage future generations in scenarios that contribute to shaping the country as predicted by UAE Centennial 2071 trends.
